Fentanyl awareness fact sheet from the Virginia Department of Health and Virginia Department of Education. It explains that fentanyl is a dangerous opioid that may be mixed with other drugs without a person’s knowledge. Overdose signs include constricted pupils, loss of consciousness, slow or stopped breathing, choking or gurgling sounds, a limp body and cold or discolored skin. If an overdose is suspected, call 911 immediately. The fact sheet encourages students to avoid pills from friends and seek help from a trusted adult, counselor, coach or school nurse.
