We have an exciting opportunity for families and community members tonight, Thursday, September 12 at KCMS from 5:30-8 PM. There will be a free screening of The Right to Read Documentary with a reception before and a panel presentation afterward. This documentary fits very well with changes happening across the division as a result of The Virginia Literacy Act. We hope you can join us!

As we approach the Labor Day weekend, we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family. Please note that all schools will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, in observance of the holiday.
We also want to inform you that the Virginia Department of Health has provided our school division with COVID-19 rapid antigen tests at no cost. Next week, each student and staff member will receive a box containing two tests to take home. If you or your child experiences any symptoms of COVID-19 we strongly encourage you to use these tests.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea
Please remember to report any positive test results to your child's school nurse.
