Open gym for any 6th, 7th, or 8th grade girls wanting to play basketball this winter will be meeting from 3:30-5pm Mondays and Thursdays in the upper gym. The first open gym will be Thursday, September 5th. You must have an updated VHSL sports physical to participate. Picture Day for Kate Collins students is Thursday, September 5th, 2024! Students will take their pictures during their first period elective. More information to come about how to order pictures through our photography company Queen City Photography. 🙂

As we approach the Labor Day weekend, we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family. Please note that all schools will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, in observance of the holiday. We also want to inform you that the Virginia Department of Health has provided our school division with COVID-19 rapid antigen tests at no cost. Next week, each student and staff member will receive a box containing two tests to take home. If you or your child experiences any symptoms of COVID-19 we strongly encourage you to use these tests. Symptoms of COVID-19 include: • Fever or chills • Cough • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing • Sore throat • Congestion or runny nose • Fatigue • Muscle or body aches • Headache • Nausea or vomiting • Diarrhea Please remember to report any positive test results to your child's school nurse.
