Dear Homeschool Family:
Your homeschool student(s) can register to take Advanced Placement (AP), Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Tests (PSAT/NMSQT), and PreAct examination test through the Waynesboro Public School system. The tests are not mandatory.
The College Board offers AP tests in about 30 subjects once a year in May. Many universities offer college credit for a score of 3, 4 or 5 (on a 1 through 5 scale). The 3-hour test is rigorous and designed to be comparable to a final exam in a college course.
Most students prepare for an AP test by taking an AP course specifically designed for that purpose. AP courses are offered both at Waynesboro High School and online through Virtual Virginia.
For fees and to register your student for testing with Waynesboro Public Schools, you must notify us by Friday, October 16, 2026 by contacting Contact Person, Heather Craddock at Waynesboro High School. The phone number is 946-4616 ext. 70017 or by email at hcraddock@waynesboro.k12.va.us
