Want to be a teacher? Ready to make a difference for students?
The RTR Teacher Residency Program at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in partnership with Waynesboro Public Schools offers a hands-on, school-based teacher preparation experience. Through both graduate and undergraduate pathways, residents gain the knowledge, skills, and real-world experience needed to be effective educators. If you already have your associate or bachelor’s degree, one of our pathways could be right for you! This program also offers:
a full salary and benefits as an employee of the school division for those pursuing their bachelor’s degree
a stipend to cover the cost of your degree or certificate in education, leading to teacher licensure eligibility in elementary, secondary, or special education for graduate and undergraduate pathways

We’re proud of our Waynesboro Public Schools team members who recently shared their expertise on the "Building Farm to School Partnerships within the School Division" panel! 🌱✨
Our very own Ryan Blosser, Farm Educator at the Waynesboro Education Farm; Tammy Coffey, WPS School Nutrition Supervisor; Caitlyn Lass, Nutrition Manager at Berkeley Glenn Elementary; and Michael Perry, Principal at Berkeley Glenn, all highlighted the impact of connecting students with local, nutritious food and hands-on learning experiences. Thank you for fostering farm-to-school partnerships that enrich our students and community!

📅 Friendly Reminder: There will be no school for students on Monday, November 4 (Staff Workday) and Tuesday, November 5 (Staff Development Day). We hope everyone enjoys the extended weekend, and we look forward to welcoming students back on Wednesday, November 6! 🍂📚

Happy Halloween, Roadrunners! Parents & guardians, we have several allergies in the building and do not want anyone to accidentally eat something that they shouldn't. Please do not send or allow your students to bring candy in to school tomorrow. Thanks for your understanding. Have fun tonight, and stay safe!
🚌✨ Today, we celebrate our incredible Waynesboro Public Schools bus drivers who ensure our students arrive safely every day. These drivers go above and beyond, showing kindness, patience, and professionalism along every route. Thank you for all you do!
