Greetings, Wenonah! September is Attendance Awareness Month! We shared several resources with you in folders this week. We really want to encourage attendance in school each day! Every day matters! Please send your child to school each day unless they are sick according to our WPS policy. If they are sick, be sure to call our office so we can mark the absence correctly. Throughout this month, we will continue to share additional attendance resources and incentives. For example, the class with the best average daily attendance this month will get free Kona Ice at the end of the month! We appreciate your support as we work to encourage good attendance. We kick off our Cookie Dough fundraiser today! Your child will be bringing home information about it this afternoon. It is super easy to participate online as well. Stock up on cookie dough for the upcoming holiday season while raising money that supports school-wide activities and events! A reminder that Friday, September 8th is our Fall Picture Day. Tuesday, September 12th is Domino’s Spirit Night- another opportunity to show support for Wenonah. Lastly, so you can plan ahead, there is no school for students on September 18th. This is a Teacher Work Day. Thank you for all you do to support your student and our school community! We are so glad you are here!

Happy Labor Day!
Good afternoon, Wenonah! We look forward to welcoming family and friends to our school tomorrow evening for Back to School Night! Join us from 5 to 6:30 PM for food, fun, and more as you move throughout our school to see the changes in our building and spend time getting to know Wenonah staff. Friday is our first Genius Hour of the year! This is an exciting day for students as they participate in enrichment activities of their choice, spend time with friends in other classes and grades, and learn new skills. Be sure to ask about it after school! We are going to start our day together on Friday with a Whole School Morning. This is new experience for us and we are very much looking forward to spending time as an entire school community, practicing the skills we learn in the classroom Morning Meetings. A reminder there is no school on Monday, September 4th- Happy Labor Day! We will see everyone back on Tuesday, September 5th. Looking ahead to next week, we kick-off our fall cookie dough fundraiser on September 6th and have fall pictures on Friday, September 8th.

Good afternoon, Wenonah families! We are so glad you're here! Our year is off to a smooth start; thank you for your support! This year you can expect a weekly message on Wednesday afternoon called "Wednesday Words." This message will include upcoming events and reminders for the next week at Wenonah. The same information will often be repeated in a Sunday afternoon call. You can also always find a calendar of events on our Events banner on our Wenonah website and in the app. Please be sure to sign up for Rooms for frequent communication with your student's teacher. Attendance is a focus for our school this year. Student attendance is incredibly important and as early as elementary school, sets the foundation for success in school for years to come. If your child is sick or misses school for an appointment, please call the office so we can excuse the absence. We kicked off our School Store Fundraiser this week! Support your child's classroom and teacher by making a donation. Students have an opportunity to earn cool prizes for participating! Next week, we look forward to welcoming families and friends for a Back to School Night on Thursday, August 31st from 5 to 6:30 PM. A pizza dinner will be provided. This is an opportunity for you to tour our school, see the renovations from the summer, meet your student's teacher and connect with others in our community. We hope you'll save the date! September 4th is a holiday for all. Wishing you and your family a Happy Labor Day! Have a great evening and weekend ahead! Yours in gratitude, Mrs. Arey
