As we approach the Labor Day weekend, we want to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family. Please note that all schools will be closed on Monday, September 2nd, in observance of the holiday.
We also want to inform you that the Virginia Department of Health has provided our school division with COVID-19 rapid antigen tests at no cost. Next week, each student and staff member will receive a box containing two tests to take home. If you or your child experiences any symptoms of COVID-19 we strongly encourage you to use these tests.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include:
• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea
Please remember to report any positive test results to your child's school nurse.

Waynesboro Public Schools' Heavy Equipment Operation Licensure Program was recognized at the August school board meeting.
The Heavy Equipment Operation Licensure program includes certifications in OSHA 10, Stand Up and Sit Down Forklift certifications. All of the students earned their licenses for Heavy Equipment Operations 1 Level. .
Upon completion of the program, students were guaranteed interviews with Waynesboro City, Momentum Earthworks, and M3 Inc. and impressively, each student received at least one job offer

Dr. India Harris, Director of Secondary Instruction and Ms. Beth Burdick, Waynesboro High School Career Coach, facilitated this program in partnership with Blue Ridge Community College.


The Waynesboro Public School recognized the Waynesboro Education Farm at their August meeting. The Waynesboro Education Farm has implemented a student employment program which employees 11th and 12th grade students to be paid Farm Assistants. Rising 9th and 10th graders are eligible for positions as Junior Farm Assistants. 👩🌾🧑🌾🥬🍅
The following students participated in the Waynesboro Education Farm Student Employment program:

🌟Caleb Haywood - 9th grader, completed the Junior Farm Assistant Program

🌟Dalton Aleshire - 11th grade, Youth Leader in Agriculture with Project GROWS
🌟Gabriel O'Brien - 12th grade, Youth Leader in Agriculture with Project GROWS
