School Board Recognition Series – Celebrating Student Writers! ✍️📖 The Waynesboro School Board is proud to recognize two outstanding student writers for their achievements in the 2025 Writer’s Eye Competition! 🏆 Dorothy Harden, Senior – 1st Place (6th-12th Grade Poetry) for her poem "Spirit Bus", inspired by Jonathan Green’s painting "Zebra Farm Bus". Dorothy’s English teacher is Mr. Ed McNett. 🏆 Remy Dame, Sophomore – 1st Place (6th-12th Grade Prose) for his story "The Pale Orb", inspired by Leonardo Nierman’s painting "Meditation". Remy’s English teacher is Ms. Taylor Blackburn. Both students will receive a $100 award, have their work published in the 2025 Writer’s Eye Anthology, and be honored at the UVA Writer’s Eye Ceremony in March. 📖✨ Congratulations, Dorothy & Remy!
